Activism and BDS Beat 15 May 2011
A dramatic video published by the website baladee.net shows the moment when hundreds of Palestinian refugees and Syrians break through the border fence from Syria into the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights (part of Syria occupied by Israel in 1967 and illegally annexed in 1981).
The video, which appears to be taken from the Israeli-occupied side shows a group of hundreds or perhaps thousands of marchers carrying Palestinian flags heading toward the boundary fence. Spectators on the Israeli-occupied side – apparently worried about the safety of the marchers – call on them to go back because of the danger of land mines.
However, undeterred, the marchers continue, and break through the border fence as people on both sides call for the liberation of Palestine. As the marchers break through there are scenes of joy, high emotion and embraces with those on the Israeli-occupied side. One man is heard to say, “This is how liberation is.”

Question:
What was their chant? I am a non-Arabic speaker but I think it may be
'The people united will never be divided".
Wonderful video, and fantastic action. Best I have seen in my life!

Thank you so much for posting that.
Someday I will drive from one side to the other at about that spot, and slow down to look at where the border used to be, and someone will HONK at me for holding up the everyday traffic, with no checkpoints or guards.
they were chanting multiple

they were chanting multiple chants
the first one,
"Al-Shaab yureed Tahreer Falesteen" - "The people demand the Liberation of Palestine"
the second one, I did not get
the third chant is, "bilrouh bildemm nefdeeki Felasteen" - "with our lives, with our blood, we shall sacrifice for you, Palestine"
the guy behind the camera was screaming at the crowd to stay back.because there were land mines in the area. Apparently, it did not deter a segment of the crowd to cross over
near the end of the tape, the cameraman was saying "allah-Yehayyeekum"
"God Salutes you"
the name of the village they crossed into is called Majdal Shams
Don't they have people being killed in their own country?

Kinda strange that they choose to waste their time on this, when they have people being exterminated in their own country...
But that's just my opinion.
wouldn't that be a good
Permalink TS replied on
wouldn't that be a good reason to return to your own country if the one you're exiled to starts murdering its own people

Only the people's movement can liberate Palestine!

I can only express my deepest appreciation and awe at another example of how the arab people's vanguard is forging a new vision for all the world to see and learn from in how to confront and transform the oppressive domination of the governments that surround them. Basta Ya! Enough! Seize the Time! Adelante! Forward! The oppressive, counterrevolutionary powers of the U.S., Israel, Europe, Saudi Arabia and all the other neo-colonial Arab governments are maneuvering desparately to contain this greatest Arab Spring blossoming freedom - don't give them any respite to regroup and counterattack! Palestine will be free!

fill their prisons
with your life
to let the world know
of our strife
fill their prisons
with your life
because you are free!
because you are right!
we will show them
how to live
independent
with dignity
for we will march
and march en mass
our fists held high
our chests upright
singing songs
within our soul
of return
and times of old
to our homeland
we shall return!
for generations
our hearts have burned
what will they say?
what will they do?
we shall not bend!
we shall not bow!
onward onward
to Palestine
to a homeland
to a life
sister, mother
father, son
united peoples
can’t be undone!
