Qalandia: just aim…and fire

This morning, at the Qalandia checkpoint, a Palestinian child was shot in his head with a rubber-coated metal bullet.

Israeli forces at the checkpoint fired rubber coated metal bullets and tear gas at hundreds of Palestinians, most of them residents of Jerusalem, who were waiting to cross the Qalandia checkpoint.

The checkpoint was supposed to open at 6 o’clock this morning, but the Israeli apartheid regime decided to keep it closed. Hundreds of trucks, with yellow Israeli registration plates, and hundreds of people with Jerusalem identity cards, were prevented from crossing the checkpoint. Also this morning, Israeli authorities imposed a curfew on Shufat refugee camp and Anata.
