Podcast Ep 37: How the corporate media suppresses Palestine

On episode 37, we discuss media suppression and how the corporate press covered the recent attacks on Gaza.

We are joined by Greg Shupak, a contributor to The Electronic Intifada and Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting (FAIR). He is also the author of The Wrong Story: Palestine, Israel and the Media.

“You did see people who are engaging in out and out blood lust,” he explains, regarding the behavior of mainstream media.

But the “more common approach this time around from the mainstream media in the US – and from what I can tell Britain and also Canada – is the ‘both sides’ approach or the ‘Israel has a right to defend itself’ approach,” he adds.

Greg explained that “The idea of Israeli self-defense involves … picking some arbitrary starting point when Palestinians fought back and then being like: ‘yeah, that’s the first blood.’”

Greg wrote a great article for The Electronic Intifada in 2018 explaining why Israeli “self-defense” is a logical impossibility.
