A measure to divest approximately $17 million of the Presbyterian Church USA’s funds from corporations profitting from the Israeli occupation of Palestinian lands was defeated by only two votes tonight.
A committee of the Presbyterian Church (USA)’s General Assembly voted overwhelmingly in favor of an upcoming divestment initiative that could pull the church’s funds from three major US companies.
