The Russell Tribunal on Palestine concludes that Israel imposes a system of systematic, institutional apartheid against the Palestinian people. It also finds that Israel is involved in persecution of the Palestinian people which is a separate crime against of humanity. Only six out of the original 27 Freedom Waves participants have been released, twenty-one participants are still detained in Israeli prisons. Egyptian journalist with Almasry Alyoum, Lina Attalah was the first to be released, she was handed over to officials at the Egyptian Embassy in Israel who later escorted her back home to Egypt through Taba crossing, Lina wrote an eyewitness account which can be found here. Not one day did the two liberated Palestinian prisoners Khuweiled and Nizar Ramadan enjoy being out of Prison. A Jewish Settler family from the illegal settlement Yitzahar has declared that it will reward $100,000 to whoever murders Khuweiled or Nizar. UPDATED: A leading Palestinian activist from Bil’in has become the village’s latest political prisoner. Ashraf Abu Rahmeh was kidnapped by Israeli occupation soldiers last week, and has now been indefinitely detained on the orders of an Israeli captain at Ofer prison. Eid Misleh spent 19 years in Israel’s prisons until he was released as part of a prisoner exchange agreed between Hamas and Israel.
