The “peace process” and the future of Palestine

On 9 April, I spoke at the Palestine Center in Washington DC about my new book The Battle for Justice in Palestine.

My 30-minute presentation followed by a question-and-answer session can be seen in the video above.

The discussion included the past and future of the “peace process,” including the recent efforts of US Secretary of State John Kerry, Israel’s “right to exist as a Jewish state,” the role of the Israel lobby in attempts to suppress debate on and off campus, neoliberalism and the Palestinian Authority and future directions for Palestine.

This talk was part of an ongoing tour. Details of upcoming events in other cities can be found at Haymarket Books.

Also, check out Steven Salaita’s thoughtful essay about my book in The New Inquiry: “Decolonizing Israel.”

And Truthout has published an excerpt of the book on “The economic destruction of Gaza.”
