Chris Darrell: As stated above, the artist is Nidal El-Khairy. The meaning is the slaughter in Gaza. The image is that of grieving parents with their massacred infant. The message -- “Israel is not afraid of our laughs … it’s afraid of our tears” -- is a quote from Syrian poet Muhammad al-Maghut, who is considered the preeminent Arabic-language poet of the 20th century.
