Video: After taking son, Israeli occupation forces humiliate, arrest mother who challenges them

Israeli occupation forces arrested 7 Palestinians in the southern West Bank early on Tuesday morning, according to Maan News Agency, including a raid on the Hebron home of Jamila Hassan al-Shalaldeh where they detained her and her 20-year-old son Ragheb al-Salaymeh early Tuesday morning.

A video posted by the group Youth Against Settlements on its Facebook page, shows what happened.

As Israeli occupation soldiers lead away the son (Youth Against Settlements calls him “Abed”), blindfolded and handcuffed, his distraught mother can be heard shouting and challenging the occupation soldiers – “I want my son.” She falls to the ground, but is brought to her feet by concerned neighbors. Then as a group of soldiers surround her, she continues to demand her son. One occupation soldier can be seen filming the incident on a cellphone.

A neighbor comes to provide water and comfort to the woman but is sent away. Al-Shalaldeh falls on the ground and is picked up by the soldiers and placed on a chair. As she continues to shout that she wants her son, the soldiers order her to “shut up.”

The soldiers bind al-Shalaldeh to the chair using plastic ties. At this point a soldier orders the person filming – identified by Youth Against Settlements as Zedan Sharabati – to go back indoors and close the door. However, he continues filming through a window.

Al-Shalaldeh stands up, with the chair attached to her and shouts at the soldiers, “Get away from me, I want to go to my house,” and begins to cry, obviously distraught.

A soldier appears to aim an assault rifle at her. Moments later, again seated, al-Shalaldeh tells the soldiers, “I want to go to the bathroom, to my house,” but they remain surrounding her.

Eventually, an occupation police vehicle arrives, and the handcuffed al-Shalaldeh is led to it and taken away.

Youth Against Settlements said the incident took place in Hebron’s Shuhada Street, which is at the heart of Israeli settler efforts to take over the Palestinian city.

Once again, Zion's propensity for self-inflicted wounds presents its' grotesque talent to a world-wide Internet audience. The Israeli army's recurrent pattern of harassment, intimidation, and humiliation of a defenseless Palestinian civilian population in the West Bank has been documented for decades. Coupled with the blatant criminality of fanatical Jewish "settlers" who destroy Arab property without fear of prosecution by their Zionist government, Israel - in the eyes of the entire world - richly has earned the inglorious crown worn by the bully of the helpless.

How many soldiers were there here humiliating and tormenting a defenceless woman? Must have been at least six or more.. Disgusting, cowardly behaviour - I hope their mothers get treated the same way one day.
