Omar Yashruti, a photographer based in Lebanon, photographed these stirring images from the Nakba march in south Lebanon on 15 May. The images include demonstrators carrying away land mines, civil defense workers loading the injured into ambulances, and the Lebanese army chasing the marchers back up the hill, away from the border fence.
There was scant mainstream media coverage of the historic march of Palestinian refugees, but previously EI has blogged video footage from Andrew Bossone and Tania El Khoury, and published a must-read account of the day by Moe Ali Nayel.
EI also published this first-person narrative by Rahela Mizrahi, who grew up in an Israeli kibbutz near Maroun al-Ras, the Lebanese village where the right of return demonstration was held.
