Update: 29 November 2017
We’re thrilled to announce that we reached our Giving Tuesday 2017 goal, thanks to the generosity of readers like you.
But we still need your support.
We’re so proud that for the fourth year in a row, The Electronic Intifada won top spots in Network for Good’s Giving Tuesday challenge.
You can see on the Leader Board that we finished the day in 1st place for Most Donors and 3rd place for Most Dollars Raised (The Electronic Intifada appears as “Middle East Cultural and Charitable Society”).
That’s out of more than 7,000 charities taking part, and it shows the support for truly independent reporting on Palestine.
This amazing showing unlocks at least $12,000 in prizes and challenge grants that will help us do even more.
Giving Tuesday is one really important day. But it’s in the final weeks of the year that we raise most of the funds that power our reporting all year long.
If you didn’t participate in Giving Tuesday, you can still contribute to our annual campaign now.
Below is a sampling of some of the incredible work our readers have supported over the last year. Much of this high-quality work is done by young reporters, photographers and videographers in Palestine who we learn from every day.
What you do today will have an impact all year long. You’ll be able to see the work your gift supports and know you are helping to inform and inspire the growing movement for justice in Palestine.
So if you haven’t done so yet, please donate now.
28 November 2017 – Giving Tuesday
Please make a Giving Tuesday donation to The Electronic Intifada right now to help us win up to $15,000 in extra funds to support independent reporting on Palestine in 2018.
It’ll take just a minute, but your gift will make a difference all year long. Donations are welcome from any country and are tax-deductible for US taxpayers.
We’re counting on you to act right now to help us meet our Giving Tuesday goals:
To raise $75,000 and receive an extra $10,000 challenge grant from a private donor if we hit that target.
To win up to $5,000 in prize money from our nonprofit partner Network for Good for the fourth year in a row by finishing ahead of more than 7,500 other charities in a friendly Giving Tuesday competition. We’ve taken first, second or third place prizes three years running – raising thousands of extra dollars. Let’s make it four!
As long as you make a donation today, 28 November, your gift will count towards the Network for Good competition in three categories: most donors taking part; most funds raised; most new recurring donors.
And it will count toward helping us win the additional $10,000, which we will only receive if we hit our $75,000 goal.
If you’ve already made a recent donation, we thank you. An additional online gift today of any amount could help us win these challenges, and provide thousands of dollars more to support our work.
Your support matters
Along with your donation, these extra funds will help us continue and expand our hard-hitting reporting and analysis. Your donation also directly supports reporters, photographers and videographers doing fantastic work in Palestine.
Remember, we’re only able to do this work because readers like you care enough to support it. And your gift helps inform, inspire and mobilize people all over the world!
Earlier this year, Israel conceded in a secret report that it has failed to stop the growing global movement for Palestinian rights. The Electronic Intifada exclusively published this leaked report which acknowledges the “impressive growth” and “significant successes” of the movement.
This shows that our publication and people like you and me are making a huge impact. We need your support today to push for more successes in the coming year.
Next year marks the 70th anniversary of the Nakba – the ethnic cleansing of Palestine – so we’re going to face even bigger challenges as Israel’s propaganda will be in overdrive.
We know that with your support, we will be ready for whatever comes. We’re really counting on you to get our Giving Tuesday challenge off to a flying start!
With thanks from The Electronic Intifada team.
We were so successful the last three years because many people like you urged friends and family to join the Giving Tuesday challenge.
Share a link to our Giving Tuesday challenge on Facebook and post a status, for example: “I just made a Giving Tuesday donation to The Electronic Intifada to support journalism that powers the movement for justice in Palestine. Help them win bonus funds. http://bit.ly/EIStrong2018 “
Share a message on Twitter, for example: “Donate to @Intifada today and help them win #GivingTuesday bonus funds http://bit.ly/EIStrong2018 “
Powerful reporting, powered by you.
Here is a sample of the fantastic work your support has helped The Electronic Intifada publish this year.
When you donate right now, you help us to inform people all over the world and inspire the movement for justice in Palestine with critical reporting and analysis. Let’s keep it up in 2018!
