US Palestinians organize as government renews threats to indict solidarity activists

The US Palestinian Community Network (USPCN) is asking supporters to sign a pledge to defend civil and human rights as it was revealed last week that the lead government prosecutor of the Holy Land Five has been assigned to the ongoing secret investigation against anti-war and international solidarity activists across the US.

Omar Barghouti, a human rights activist and founding member of the Palestinian civil society Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement in this video salutes PennBDS and all US activists who have adopted BDS as the most effective form of solidarity with the Palestinian struggle for freedom, justice and equality.

Yesterday was another violent Friday in the village of Nabi Saleh as the weekly protests against settlement expansion continues. As always, the demonstration was met with tear gas, disgusting skunk chemicals and rubber-coated metal bullets. Disregarding cases of suffocation, 20 injuries were reported. 

Palestinians Owe Ban Ki-moon No Apologies

After this “disrespectful welcome” of Ban Ki-moon by the angry families of prisoners and martyrs, the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) shamefully sent apologies to him. But I’ll allow myself to speak on behalf of Palestinians and say proudly: “We make no apologies!” And I add: “The PLO doesn’t represent us.” Palestinians aren’t the ones who should apologize.
