Growing up under curfew
Report, Save the Children, 30 April 2003

The tragic situation faced by children in the Occupied Palestinian Territories is the subject of a report put together by staff from Save the Children UK and Sweden who have joined forces and plan to launch it at the UN Commission on Human Rights in Geneva in April 2003.

The report, Growing Up under Curfew: safeguarding the basic rights of Palestinian children, is in response to other political events in the region which Save the Children is concerned are taking precedence, overshadowing the plight of young Palestinians. The report is compiled from research that includes the views of young children and their parents living across the territories. It reveals how the education and health services that children depend on to develop and grow have been decimate.

"Two children in an institution for mentally disabled children have not seen their family for over two years because the Israeli authorities have not granted travel permits.”
