Destruction in Khan Yunis
Video, The Electronic Intifada, 10 July 2003

The footage shows the road from the edge of Khan Yunis to Al-Mawasi, a narrow strip of coastal land trapped between the sea and the Israeli settlement bloc of Gush Qatif. In the area between Khan Yunis and the settlement, Palestinian homes have been demolished and fired upon. The area is surrounded by Israeli military outposts. In the past few years, Israeli occupying forces have demolished homes and razed the area between the settlements and the Palestinian refugee camps. The residents of Al-Mawasi are effectively imprisoned. At times, the army completely prohibits movement in or out of al-Mawasi; as a result, dozens of residents of al-Mawasi find themselves stuck in Khan Yunis without food, a change of clothes, or a place to spend the night. On 10 July 2003, EI's Arjan El Fassed visited Khan Yunis in the Gaza Strip.
