The Palestine Solidarity Group-Chicago recently protested the opening night of the Israeli film festival — dubbed the REAL Israel Film Festival. Protesters highlighted how Israel uses culture to try to whitewash its war crimes, occupation and apartheid.

While Britain keeps Sheikh Raed Saleh as a political prisoner, another Palestinian citizen of Israel who has been persecuted for his work advocating for his community’s rights remains in Israeli prison.
Adalah, the Legal Center for Arab Minority rights in Israel, and Nadi al-Aseer, the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club, filed a pre-petition on 11 May demanding an end to detention in prison facilities run by Israel’s secret service agency.
