The BDS National Committee (BNC), the Palestinian civil society coalition that leads the BDS movement, has called on activists to use the BDS Global Day of Action to take action to highlight the success of the movement and mobilise for the World Social Forum Free Palestine due to take place in Port Alegre, Brazil, in November 2012

A resolution to support the BDS movement was passed in a near-unanimous vote at Occupy Oakland’s general assembly on Wednesday evening.

A open letter from a huge coalition of Palestinian student groups published today, condemns the UK Labour party student officers who went on a recent propaganda tour of Israel and illegal Israeli settlements, for crossing “a picket line established by the entirety of the Palestinian civil society”.

French transportation multinational Alstom, which is involved in the illegal Jerusalem Light Rail project, loses a multi-billion-dollar contract due to the sustained pressure by BDS activists.

The BNC says: “The refreshing scenes of determined peaceful protest for justice from around the world tell us that we, the 99 percent of the world, are in the process of straightening our backs, collectively, with unwavering fortitude and boundless hope.”

The hunger strike movement for Palestine develops rapidly. The Palestinian BNC supports the demands of the Palestinian prisoners and calls for stepping up the BDS campaign to end Israeli impunity.
