Israel attacks Gaza: "Operation Autumn Clouds" (1 November 2006-)
On 1 November 2006, according to the website of the Israeli Defense Forces, Israeli "infantry, engineering and armored forces began operating in the Beit Hanun area in the northern Gaza Strip against terror infrastructure in general and rocket launching infrastructure in particular." In the first two days, 15 Palestinians were killed, including at least 4 civilians, and wounded at least 50, including 15 children and 3 women. (Added 2 November 2006)
