Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions

Academic Boycott
While the Israeli occupation of the West Bank and Gaza Strip has significantly impacted Palestinians' right to education, Israeli academia has remained conspicuously silent and continues to play a role in the system of oppression. As Israeli Professor Oren Ben-Dor wrote, "The academic boycott is central to starting the process of Israeli self-examination that is a core prerequesite to a resolution of the conflict." (Added 8 September 2006)

The Campaign built on the Palestinian call for a comprehensive economic, cultural and academic boycott of Israel issued in August 2002 and a statement made by Palestinian academics and intellectuals in the occupied territories and in the Diaspora calling for a boycott of Israeli academic institutions in October 2003.
