On 11 July 2002, Palestinian freelance photographer Imad Abu Zahra shot when Israeli tanks fired on him without warning. He was seriously hurt and left bleeding for more than an hour. Israeli forces refused to allow an ambulance to evacuate him. He died the next day from the gunshot wounds he sustained.
