A dramatic video published by the website baladee.net shows the moment when hundreds of Palestinian refugees and Syrians break through the border fence from Syria into the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights (part of Syria occupied by Israel in 1967 and illegally annexed in 1981).

Nakba Survivor: new website highlights testimonies of the Nakba

A new website was launched today that lets Palestinian refugees who fled (or whose parents and grandparents fled) Israel’s ethnic cleansing project that began in 1948, talk about their experiences in time for the 63rd annual commemoration of the Nakba. 

NakbaSurvivor.com, a multi-media initiative of the Institute for Middle East Understanding (IMEU), features short, personal testimonials of refugees and their direct descendants.

Annual Houston Palestine Film Festival opens tomorrow night!

The fifth annual Houston Palestine Film Festival opens tomorrow night with a screening of Jaffa, The Orange’s Clockwork with guest appearance by filmmaker Eyal Sivan. The screening will be accompanied by a photo exhibition by Khalil AbuSharekh.
